The Feinstein on Frith Hill
Mushrooms and Toadstools
The soil and the fallen trees between them produce the most fantastic array of fungi. I do not know their names and I have no idea of quite how poisonous or innocuous they may be. Some last for weeks and others come and go within a couple of days. Some are summer visitors and others are autumnal.
These turn up briefly among the fallen auturm leaves
This showed up for the first time in 2018. What is it?
No-one should want to eat this, it looks far too dangerous!
Another fallen log has generated these innocent looking decorations
An old tree stump throws these out each autumn
They look like a little huddle of hoodlums
They do not improve with familiarity
My grandmother warned against oversized hats which could make you look like a mushroom
These are the commonest ones, but are they edible? Best not to try til we know
